Eric Reichard is a master potter and a professor
at Appalachian State University. Eric has been a potter for 34 years. He found
his passion for the craft in the late 60's while attending college in the Boone area.
He received his Educational Specialist and Master of Arts degrees from Appalachian
State University in the 70's. Eric currently is the director of the Craft Enrichment
Program at Appalachian State University. These workshops offer community members a
"hands on" experience with many forms of creative expression through learning crafts.
Eric has studied and exhibited pottery extensively throughout the United States as well
as Japan and Africa. He conducts workshops on the East coast and also in California.
His work includes functional pieces as well as one of a kind art pieces. He uses a variety
of unique glazes and continues to experiment with new ideas. He maintains the Eric Reichard
Studio in Boone where he lives with his wife and daughter. Main Street Gallery offers
visitors the chance to see and purchase Eric's work.
